December 8th Challenge: 7th International Dignified Menstruation Day 2025

Join the Global Movement for Dignified Menstruation!
On the occasion of the 7th International Dignified Menstruation Day (December 8, 2025), Dignified Menstruation Inc. and Global South Coalition for Dignified Menstruation (GSCDM) are thrilled to launch the “December 8th Challenge: Dignified Menstruation: Reclaim Inherent Dignity, Equity and Inalienable Rights.
This global campaign challenge invites individuals, youth groups, CSOs, grassroots organizations, schools, and activists worldwide to design and implement creative advocacy activities that spotlight Dignified Menstruation.
How to Participate
- Choose an Activity
- You can conduct at least one or more of the suggested activities to mark 8th December, 2025 – International Dignified Menstruation Day, such as:
- Rally or March for Dignified Menstruation
- Street Drama on the theme
- Public Dialogue, Workshop, or Discussion Forum
- Art Exhibition, Poster Display, or Poetry/Storytelling
- School or Community Awareness Programs
- Media Campaigns (social media, radio, podcasts, digital campaigns, etc.)
- You can conduct at least one or more of the suggested activities to mark 8th December, 2025 – International Dignified Menstruation Day, such as:
- Organize & Implement
- Plan the activity in your local context (community, school, workplace, or public space).
- Activities must begin anytime from not earlier than 1st November 2025 and later than 10th December 2025.
- Ensure that the activities connect with this year’s message:
“Dignified Menstruation: Reclaim Inherent Dignity, Equity, and Inalienable Rights”
- Document Your Activity
- Capture photos and videos of the event.
- Prepare a summary report (1–2 pages) covering:
- Activity title & type
- Location and date
- Number and type of participants (youth, women, men, students, policymakers, etc.)
- Key messages shared / outcomes of the event
- Media coverage (if any)
- Selection Criteria for Each Activity
- Rally or March for Dignified Menstruation
- Clear messaging aligned with the theme: “Dignified Menstruation: Reclaim Inherent Dignity, Equity, and Inalienable Rights”
- Visible participation of diverse groups (youth, women, men, LGBTQIA++, persons with disabilities, etc.)
- Peaceful, safe, and inclusive organization. Documentation showing key slogans, placards, and participant voices
- Street Drama
- Should be aligned with the theme of the 7th IDM Day
- Should address the dignity, equity, and rights through the lens of Dignified Menstruation
- Documentation of script, photos, or video clips
- Public Dialogue, Workshop, or Discussion Forum
- Speakers/facilitators should have expertise on menstruation, SRHR, Human Rights, GBV, or any other related field. Participation of youth, policymakers, and other relevant stakeholders
- Clear action-oriented discussions with outcomes (commitments, pledges, follow-up actions)
- Well-documented report highlighting key messages
- Art Exhibition, Poster Display, or Poetry/Storytelling
- Originality, creativity, and emotional power of the artwork or performance
- Should align with the theme of 7th IDM Day
- Accessibility and inclusivity
- Documentation (photos of artworks, written poems, short video clips of storytelling)
- School or Community Awareness Programs
- Engagement of young people and community leaders
- Innovative methods used for awareness (debates, quizzes, pledge signing, etc.)
- Documentation (photos, attendance sheets, short report)
- Media Campaigns (social media, radio, podcasts, digital campaigns, etc.)
- Creativity of content (videos, reels, podcasts, radio shows, or digital posters)
- Reach and visibility (number of views, shares, or audience engagement)
- Key messages highlighting human rights, dignity, and equity through the Dignified Menstruation framework
- Links/screenshots of campaign posts with hashtags: #DignifiedMenstruation #December8Challenge #IDMDay2025 #ReclaimDignity

- Awards & Recognition
- Five (5) winners will be selected globally.
- Each winner will receive USD 400 as recognition and support.
- Selection will be based on Creativity, Impact, Inclusivity, and Visibility.
