Call for Applications – Steering Committee Members | GSCDM

The Global South Coalition for Dignified Menstruation (GSCDM) is excited to announce the opening of applications for Steering Committee Members!

We are seeking passionate, committed, and experienced individuals to guide and strengthen our collective efforts toward ensuring Dignified Menstruation (DM) for in all diversities. If you are an advocate, practitioner, researcher, policymaker, or activist working around menstruation, Dignified Menstruation, but not limited to Human Rights, Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV), Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Disability Rights, Climate Justice, and so on, you are warmly invited to apply.

About GSCDM:

GSCDM is a global cum. Pioneer Network (a secretariat based in Nepal) to conceptualize and theorize the innovative & holistic approach “Dignified Menstruation”. The concept and urgency of the DM emerged from the lived experiences of the Global South,

It is working to transform the narrative around menstruation from five days of bleeding to the life cycle approach and from hygiene to dignity. Our mission is to create a regenerative society where both menstruators and non-menstruators[2] from all diversities can live their life with full dignity. We work to dismantle the silence, stigma, taboos, shyness, restrictions, abuses, and deprivation of resources and services that every menstruator faces during menstruation. Currently, there are 95 members associated with our network from all around the globe.

🔹 Role of the Steering Committee

GSCDM is reshuffling the Steering Member Committee for the 3rd tenure, active from November 2025. The position is entirely a voluntary one (minimum 6 hours of contribution per month); thus, those who are passionate about working on DM are encouraged to apply.

The Steering Committee provides strategic leadership, guidance, and governance support to GSCDM’s mission. Members will:

  • Actively participate in the monthly[3] meetings and discussions.
  • Commit time and effort to other collaborations and tasks based on need.
  • Adopt a rotational leadership approach that includes the responsibility of leading each meeting will be alternated among its members. This includes but is not limited to logistical arrangements like coordinating with all members, checking availability, sending invitations to members, setting the agenda, inviting externals if necessary, and facilitating the discussion.
  • Provide input in thematics consultations, research, and global networking and advocacy spaces.
  • Respect each other’s time, effort, and insights, and will maintain a cordial, collaborative, and dignified environment for everyone.
  • Shape the vision and strategic direction of the coalition
  • Support advocacy, partnerships, network, and outreach through accountability and visibility.
  • Represent GSCDM on various platforms.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

We welcome applicants who:

  • Are passionate about working voluntary basis.
  • Able to associate with the coalition actively for 3 years.
  • Have demonstrated commitment to work on dignified menstruation.
  • Bring diverse experiences, including gender, disability, Indigenous, youth, LGBTQIA+ perspectives, and geography
