International Training on Dignified Menstruation 2026

International Training on Dignified Menstruation 2026

📍 Kathmandu, Nepal | 🗓️ 4–8 December, 2026

Applications are now open for the International Training on Dignified Menstruation, a five-day immersive learning program organized by the Global South Coalition for Dignified Menstruation (GSCDM). This training brings together practitioners, researchers, academics, educators, development partners, activists, youth leaders, and advocates from around the world to confront menstrual discrimination through a rights-based, intersectional lens.

Since its inception, GSCDM has trained over 1,104 representatives from 16+ countries — including China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Togo, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam — building a growing global movement for menstrual dignity.

Why This Training Matters

Menstrual discrimination (MD) is a form of sexual and gender-based violence and a violation of human rights. It shows up as silence, stigma, restriction, and deprivation across households, schools, workplaces, health systems, legal frameworks, humanitarian settings, media, and governance institutions. Most global interventions to date have focused on menstrual management — products, facilities, and education — without dismantling the deeper structural inequalities that sustain discrimination. This training goes further, equipping participants to challenge those root causes directly.

What You'll Gain

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the core principles of Dignified Menstruation
  • Analyze menstrual discrimination through gender, intersectionality, power, and human rights perspectives
  • Integrate Dignified Menstruation into program design and policy development
  • Strengthen advocacy, communication, and leadership skills
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation indicators for Dignified Menstruation initiatives
  • Design a context-specific action plan to bring home to their own country

Representatives of INGOs, NGOs, academic institutions, researchers, public health professionals, teachers and educators, gender specialists, human rights advocates, SRHR practitioners, disability inclusion experts, LGBTQIA++ community, climate justice advocates, youth leaders, development partners, UN agencies, and private sector CSR representatives.
